Hey Young Female Soccer Players...

Lori Khazen is an amazing strength & conditioning coach! My speed and strength have improved significantly since I began training with her, and our work together has taken my soccer game to a whole new level. She will literally work every muscle in your body to make you the best athlete possible. I have also avoided sports-related injuries, which I believe is largely due to the balance work that she incorporates. I would HIGHLY recommend her to other high school athletes, especially those interested at the college level, because she has a ton of experience and knows how to push players to reach their full potential. I am in good physical shape, but I always finish her workouts feeling like I was extended.     ...Alison, female collegiate & select soccer player

The first time I met Lori Khazen was at a Washington University winter soccer camp that she led when I was 12. At first I didn't know what I was getting myself into. Each session I was drenched in sweat, my legs were so sore that they felt like jell-o. I had to use all my muscles… some that I didn't even know existed. But it was all worth it. A year later I bruised a knee and sprained an ankle playing soccer. When this happened I first thought of Lori to help me get back in the game with rehabilitation. She quickly helped me recover from my injury. For the last 6 years I have been with Lori and her company KAK to make me a better soccer player and athlete. Lori designs different programs and workouts to get me to reach my objectives. For example, I wanted to improve my speed and upper body strength. Before I had never liked running until she had me do stairs and hills and pushed me to run more on my own. I got faster and can go longer. As for my upper body strength Lori worked with me and we used resistance bands and she showed me the proper way to use weights. Lori also helps me with sport-specific things. Since I play soccer I wanted to work on taking on opposing players and beating them. She worked with me on quick steps, explosion off the ball, plyometric exercises and ball skills. Lori is an excellent strength & conditioning coach. Lori is very passionate about her work and clients; an effective and assertive person; a knowledgeable resource. She has raised my intensity level higher and guided me to set goals for myself. She has improved my endurance, strength, and prepared me for my soccer seasons. I recommend her to all my friends and anyone looking for a strength coach. I’m so happy that I have had the chance to be her friend and student.     ...Abbey, female high school & select soccer player

My main goal for starting KAK's training was to be in top physical condition for high school tryouts. I wanted to do everything in my power to make sure I'd impress the coaches by never slowing down and that I would always work my hardest without being extremely tired.  Once I began the program, I realized that I not only wanted to continually work to be in shape, but also protect my body from common female injuries such as tearing my ACL (which luckily hasn't yet happened to me). I was taught to do this by strengthening and building my hamstring muscles. A drill that was incredibly helpful was bounding because it included holding a deep bent-knee position for long periods of time and landing correctly from high jumps. I was also taught how to improve my agility through various sprinting drills that were combinations of different footwork that I use in soccer games all of the time.  After all of the training I've been through with KAK, I am happy to say that I have made the Junior Varsity Soccer team at my high school as a freshman. Thanks to the KAK program, I now know exactly how to correctly perform each of the many drills I have learned. I will continue to practice them at home to increase not only my high school soccer performance throughout the season, but my overall fitness all year 'round. I would not truly understand how to help my body in the specific ways that fit my lifestyle without this actual hands-on training. KAK has pushed me harder than I would have pushed myself and set my training to a higher level. KAK can effectively train people of any lifestyle who want to learn the best workout for their body.     ...Allie, female high school & select soccer player

Hey Competitive Runners...

Lori’s program for me has been a huge help in my setting some running PR’s this past year.  What I needed was to get quicker and stay injury-free in order to run faster. Lori did the trick. She understands which areas need strengthening and where I need to focus in order to improve my speed and economy. I always feel like the attention I get from her is personalized and written to meet my needs and not her previous 10 clients’. THIS is my “X” factor!     ...Julie Bergfeld, elite masters' runner

Hey Seniors with Special Health Considerations...

Lori has been a great encouragement over the past year to both Ed and me as we try to preserve our health.  My husband (at age 68) is blind and hearing impaired so going to a gym was NOT an option.  I (age 57) had lost interest in strength training after repeatedly injuring myself.  I discovered Lori through the referral of a massage therapist who helped me cope with pain management.  Lori customized a plan for each of us to use at home (which increases our faithfulness!) using the equipment we have.  As a result, Ed and I both, have improved our physical endurance, strength, and flexibility.  I am going to the therapists rarely now and can do things I had given up (shoveling snow, gardening, mopping my floor,).  And Ed is now able to get down in the floor and up on his own, which had become impossible for him prior to working with Lori.  She is very professional, knowledgeable, patient, thorough and wise.     ...DeAnn & Ed Harris, working hard to preserve their health

Hey Parents with Teenage Athletes...

We are thrilled with the progress that our daughters made under Lori’s direction.  My husband and I looked at several different athletic training programs, but the decision to use Lori’s services came easy after reviewing her extensive resume of achievements as a female athlete, as well as her straightforward approach to injury prevention and improved fitness. (No bells and whistles here!  This is honest fitness and injury prevention.) Lori has not disappointed us:  our daughters have learned to move in a quicker, safer, smarter way on the soccer field.  What more could we ask for in a strength & conditioning coach?   I highly recommend Khazen AthletiKare for any athlete who is serious about being challenged and better prepared for his/her season.     ...Brookie Moore, mother of Sarah & Ellie, collegiate athletes

Hey Athletes Seeking Post-Rehab Services...

I am a fifty three year old man who can say without hesitation that without Lori Khazen, I would not be enjoying the quality of life I currently have.  Let me explain…  A little over two years ago, I severely injured my back.  The injury was such that it pinched a number of the nerves in my left leg causing the muscles in that leg to atrophy with a resulting loss of muscle tone and strength.  Those problems in and of themselves would have been bad enough, however the loss of strength made the pursuit of two of my passions (martial arts and golf) impossible.  The rehabilitation process prescribed by my Doctor was functional, but it was not allowing me to regain the strength I needed to return to the sports I loved.  Fortunately for me, during my rehabilitation, I encountered Lori.  During my rehabilitation, Lori was compassionate, yet demanding.  Lori made sure that the exercises I was given were done properly explaining that bad form did little to help the process.  While Lori was adamant about using the correct form in my exercises, she always understood the physical limitations my injury presented and helped me work within them.  After my prescribed therapy ended, I sought Lori to help me continue on my road to recovery. At the first private session with Lori, she asked me what I hoped to accomplish and what my fitness goals were.  Lori then proceeded to develop different programs to aid in areas such as balance, strength and endurance; all of which I figured were gone because of my injury.  As a result of Lori’s programs, supervision and encouragement I am happy to say that not only have I returned to the sports I enjoyed before the injury, I have never felt better physically than I do now!  I would recommend Lori to anyone (regardless of age) who has a desire to feel better both physically and mentally, and who wants to work with a highly competent, caring person!     ...Rick Happel, back to his functional & recreational activities

Hey Exercise Junkies...

Boredom with my normal running/spinning/weight-lifting routine led me to consider hiring a strength & conditioning coach.  Although I felt somewhat “fit”, I decided I needed someone to push me to another level.  After training with Lori Khazen the last month and a half, I realize I made the right decision.  Lori, besides being a great motivator, helped me incorporate things into my workouts I hadn’t considered before; that is, exercises for strength, flexibility and balance.  Concentrating on these three areas has really made a difference in my conditioning.  Lori is also excellent at explaining the mechanics and physiology behind all the exercises we do which has really helped focus me in my workouts.  The workouts have been tailored to meet my specific fitness level while also pushing me to do more each time.  Each training session, whether in the gym or at the track, has been challenging and rewarding.  Lori was just what I needed!     ...Liz Sommers, exercise junkie

Hey Golfers...

If you are an avid golfer like I am, you have probably tried everything from new equipment to videos from the “golf guru’s” to all types of gadgets to gain distance off the tee and improve your overall score.  Let me tell you the secret that worked for me and that you probably have not thought about or tried.  My “secret” is that I started exercising with Lori and have found that thanks to her structured work outs, I have greatly improved my flexibility and balance.  What do these improvements equate to on a golf course?  I have increased my distance off the tee from an average of 245 yards to an average of 280 yards!  Not only have I increased my distance off the tee, but my scores have been getting lower since I now have greater stamina late in the round.  Every golfer knows that the latest craze on the PGA Tour is fitness, if fitness is good for the pros, why not for the average golfer?  I am proof that proper fitness training with a trained professional like Lori can help a golf game.  Try it and see for yourself; if nothing else, its easier to explain to the spouse than why you need another new driver!     ...Rick Happel, avid golfer
