Strength & Conditioning

Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialists (CSCSs) design and instruct strength & conditioning programs for physically active people and athletes, particularly those at the professional, collegiate, and high school levels.  The primary goal of training is injury prevention, to prepare the body for the rigors of competition, recreation, and functional activity with proper training periodization, correct mechanics, and functionality of activity-specific movements.  Simultaneous goals of training are enhancements of coordination, balance & proprioception, muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, speed, agility, quickness, power, and flexibility.

A KAK CSCS will evaluate the needs of the client with a thorough fitness assessment and then design & instruct an activity-specific strength & conditioning program on a one-on-one basis at KAK's training facility at Sweat St. Louis (no membership required), the client's home, or a field/gym location of the client's choice.  For Washington University students, faculty, and staff, KAK is contracted to provide private training services on-campus through the South 40 Fitness Center.  Private training is available for all clients, regardless of age (10 and up), activity, or level of physical fitness; each session is 1 hour.  Clients can receive private training less frequently (i.e. monthly, biweekly) for program consultation, or more frequently for program design & intense instruction (i.e. 1-3x/wk).

Small Group Training

Our high school & collegiate soccer players excel during our summer program, almost entirely on the field, incorporating minimal, functional equipment and high-intensity ballwork

Team/Large Group Training             

    

JB Marine Soccer Club...training both indoors (winter) and outdoor on the field (spring, summer, & fall)

A KAK CSCS will confer with the coaching staff or group representative to evaluate the physical needs and training frequency of the team/group, then design & instruct an activity-specific strength & conditioning program done at the site of the team/group's choice, usually at the site of practice.  For soccer teams, this can include technical & tactical coaching in addition to strength & conditioning instruction, if that desired.  Training is available for athletic teams, social groups, and corporate groups, regardless of age (10 & up), activity, or level of physical fitness; each session is 1 hour.  Clients can receive team/group training less frequently (i.e. monthly, biweekly) for program consultation, or more frequently for program design & intense instruction (i.e. 1-3x/wk).
